Uber Seals the Deal: Acquires Global Chauffeur Booking Giant Blacklane

March 31, 2026 – On the 30th of the local time, Uber made an announcement about its planned acquisition of Blacklane, a well – known global chauffeur service company. However, this deal is still subject to the usual regulatory approvals and needs to meet other standard closing conditions. It is anticipated that the acquisition will be finalized by the end of 2026.

Blacklane was established in Berlin in 2011 by two co – founders. At present, its business has spread across more than 500 cities in over 60 countries. The company has created a unified platform for independent local chauffeur service providers around the world, making it convenient for customers to select suitable services. Blacklane generates its profits by selling transportation demands to these independent local professional service providers.

Uber stated that business travel is one of the fastest – growing segments in its business. The acquisition of Blacklane will further speed up its entry into the chauffeur service market through Uber Elite. Moreover, it will support Uber’s vision of providing first – class services to a larger number of customers globally.
