March 31, 2026 – Today, Pep Guardiola, the renowned manager of Manchester City Football Club, made a surprise appearance at a BYD dealership in Barcelona. The football maestro didn’t just visit; he unveiled and took delivery of a brand – new BYD Sealion 07 EV.
Video footage from the scene shows Guardiola arriving at the store. With great enthusiasm, he personally pulled the cover off the new car and then climbed into the driver’s seat to test out the vehicle’s intelligent features. The model delivered to Guardiola is the Sealion 07 EV all – wheel – drive intelligent driving version. It boasts a dual – motor all – wheel – drive system, with a combined power output of 390kW. The car can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 4.2 – 4.5 seconds, and it is priced at 56,490 euros in the French market.

Guardiola isn’t the only member of the Manchester City family who is a BYD fan. His teammates Kyle Walker and Phil Foden are also proud owners of BYD cars, specifically the BYD Seal models.
This purchase comes on the heels of a significant announcement. On February 11 this year, BYD and Manchester City Football Club announced a deep – seated strategic partnership, making BYD an official partner of the club.

During his playing days, he won the UEFA Champions League once, the La Liga title six times, and an Olympic gold medal in men’s football in 1992.
