Micron Kicks Off $24B NAND Wafer Fab Construction in Singapore

January 27, 2026 – Micron Technology has just announced the commencement of construction for a brand-new NAND flash memory wafer fabrication plant in Singapore. This facility stands out as the first-ever double-decker wafer fab in the country.

Over the next decade, Micron plans to pour approximately $24 billion into this project. The plant is slated to start production in the second half of 2028.

Singapore has long been one of Micron’s key production hubs for NAND memory. The newly built wafer fab boasts a cleanroom space of 700,000 square feet. Along with the HBM advanced packaging plant that began construction earlier, it is set to meet the soaring storage demands driven by the rapid growth of the AI industry.
