NVIDIA & Intel Unveil Plans for Groundbreaking Chips, TSMC to Handle Manufacturing

September 19, 2025 – At recent press events held by NVIDIA and Intel, NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang expressed his enthusiasm about being an Intel shareholder, highlighting that the returns from this investment are poised to be fantastic.

As reported by Seeking Alpha, Huang disclosed that TSMC will serve as the foundry for the “revolutionary” chips being jointly developed by NVIDIA and Intel. “Both NVIDIA and Intel are significant clients of TSMC. As the world’s premier semiconductor foundry, TSMC has the capability to cater to diverse customer needs, and its capabilities should not be underestimated,” Huang remarked.

Intel’s CEO Lip-Bu Tan emphasized their enduring respect for TSMC and their commitment to ongoing collaboration. “We’re advancing our 14a and 18a process technologies and evaluating their potential applications for the future,” Tan stated.

Huang elaborated on the collaboration, saying, “We’re teaming up to create custom CPUs for data center platforms. For personal computing, we’re developing new NVIDIA chips that integrate the world’s most powerful CPUs and GPUs. The era of accelerated and AI computing has arrived, and NVIDIA and Intel are set to drive its evolution together.”

Tan echoed Huang’s sentiments, noting, “This partnership will leverage our core strengths and usher in a new era of x86 innovation. I’m highly optimistic about what we can achieve together. It’s all about scale; by joining forces, we can accomplish much more. Our current focus is on collaboration, with details on implementation to follow.”

Huang pointed out that the combined potential market for these new products in data centers and PC applications exceeds 50billion.”NVIDIAhasrarelyventuredintomarketsthatcombineCPUsandGPUs.ByintegratingCPUsandGPUsthroughNVLink,we′recreatinganewcategoryofintegratedlaptopsunlikeanythingcurrentlyonthemarket.Theannualpotentialmarketisapproximately50 billion, with the data center CPU segment accounting for about $25 billion and annual notebook sales reaching around 150 million units,” he explained.

Huang also clarified that this deal would not impact NVIDIA’s partnership with Arm. “We remain committed to advancing the Arm roadmap, which will continue uninterrupted,” he assured.

Finally, Huang emphasized that this strategic transaction was solely driven by himself and Tan, highlighting their direct involvement in making it happen.
