September 13, 2025 – According to a Bloomberg report released on September 12, Apple is facing another significant executive shake – up. Robby Walker, a former Siri executive who was in charge of the “Apple Intelligence” version of Siri, is set to leave the company at the end of October 2025.
During an internal meeting after the delay of the AI – powered Siri project, Walker used a vivid metaphor. He compared the team’s efforts to a failed attempt at breaking a swimming record. He emphasized that although they didn’t reach the finish line, the achievements made during the process were still commendable. Walker also pointed out that some competitors had already launched similar functions, but the quality of those offerings was inferior. Apple, on the other hand, was committed to maintaining a high – quality standard.

After his time on the Siri project, Walker was transferred to the “Answers” team, where he was tasked with developing an AI – based search tool. However, the latest news reveals that he will be departing from Apple in late October. Bloomberg noted that the “Answers” project is still in progress and is expected to be launched in 2026.
In terms of the Siri project reorganization, Apple has shifted its management from AI chief John Giannandrea to Mike Rockwell, who was behind the creation of Vision Pro and visionOS. There are indications that the new version of Siri could make its debut as early as the spring of 2026.
