December 16, 2024 – Google has announced this week that its YouTube TV service will undergo a price increase. Effective January 13, 2025, the monthly fee for the basic package of YouTube TV will rise from 72.99to82.99, representing an increase of approximately 13.6%.
YouTube TV is a live television subscription service offered by YouTube, providing access to live broadcasts of television programs.
According to 9to5Google, the price hike has prompted many users to opt for unsubscribing from the service. In response, YouTube TV has offered a 6-month price lock to some users, allowing them to maintain their monthly fee at $72.99.
Several Reddit users have reported encountering the $72.99 offer as a final retention measure during the unsubscription process. Prior to this, YouTube TV inquires if users are willing to pause their subscriptions.
It is reported that this promotion is not available to all users. It is only valid when accessed through a web browser on a computer and when the subscription is paused within the corresponding offer.
