Expressing his wishes for Trump’s “swift recovery” after the latter was shot in the ear, Musk delved into his own encounters with potential harm. He detailed that over the past eight months, two individuals had separately attempted to take his life, both of whom were apprehended while in possession of firearms and merely a 20-minute drive away from Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin, Texas.

Notably, during Tesla’s recent annual shareholder meeting, Musk was questioned by a shareholder about measures to ensure his safety and how he copes as a high-profile figure. He acknowledged the shareholder’s concern and reiterated the gravity of the current situation.
“I mean, it’s definitely a bit crazy right now,” Musk stated. “Roughly speaking, the likelihood of a deranged killer attempting to murder you is proportional to the number of deranged killers who hear your name. Well, they hear my name a lot, so I figure, ‘Okay, I’m definitely on their list.’ And yes, there have been two instances in the past seven months or so where deranged killers tried to murder me and others. So it’s not just about me. They didn’t provide any specific motives; they just wanted to kill people. So, I do need to be a bit more cautious.”
Following Trump’s attack, Musk officially declared his support for Trump as the next President of the United States, adding that he believes “the last candidate who was as tough as him was Theodore Roosevelt.”
