February 19, 2024 – Recently surfaced camouflaged spy shots of the upcoming Tesla Model 3 Performance upgrade have confirmed that the soon-to-be-released all-electric sedan will be equipped with sports seats designed for high-intensity driving. In line with other Tesla seat designs, the Model 3 Performance’s sports seats feature a sleek white aesthetic, adding to the car’s overall appeal.
The latest iteration of the Model 3 Performance was spotted during a recent road test, distinguishing itself from previous prototypes seen on public roads over the past few months. This particular engineering test vehicle, sighted in Santa Monica, featured lighter-colored window glass, allowing for an unobstructed view of the interior.
Images of the vehicle reveal that the two front seats deviate significantly from the standard seating found in the current Model 3, resembling dedicated bucket-style racing seats.
While the seats on the engineering vehicle are not without imperfections, exhibiting some wrinkles in certain areas, they hint at Tesla’s dedication to ensuring that the new Model 3 Performance lives up to its name as a superior performance vehicle. The seats are designed to provide optimal support and stability, even during aggressive driving on a race track, minimizing driver discomfort caused by movement.
It is anticipated that similar sports seats will be incorporated into future Tesla models, such as the Model S Plaid, Model X Plaid, and Model Y Performance.
Daniel Ho, Tesla’s Chief Engineer in Australia and a veteran of the Model 3 project, previously alluded to the fact that Tesla had “left some room” when launching the previous generation Model 3 Performance. This was partly due to the company’s struggle with “production hell” at that time. However, it appears that Tesla is now pulling out all the stops to ensure that the Model 3 Performance realizes its full potential.
