October 29, 2024 – On October 26th, BYD held the launch event for its new electric pickup, the BYD SHARK 6, in Cambodia. The company also introduced its DM technology, which stands for plug-in hybrid technology, marking a significant milestone in the automotive industry’s shift towards sustainable mobility.
According to reports, BYD had initially unveiled the BYD SHARK hybrid pickup in Mexico earlier this year in May. However, the model has not yet been released in the domestic market, heightening the anticipation for its local debut.

The BYD SHARK pickup boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 5457mm in length, 1971mm in width, and 1925mm in height. It also features a spacious 3260mm wheelbase, promising a comfortable ride for passengers and ample cargo space.
Another highlight of the event was the demonstration of the BYD SHARK 6’s VTOL (Vehicle to Load) technology. This innovative feature allows the vehicle to supply power to external electrical appliances, including camping equipment, emergency power sources, and even household appliances. This versatility greatly enhances the utility of the pickup, making it an ideal companion for both on-road and off-road adventures.
