April 11, 2024 – According to the official schedule released by Microsoft for the Build 2024 developer conference, the tech giant plans to upgrade its system optimization and expansion tool, PowerToys, by introducing an advanced paste function based on a local AI model.
One of the conference sessions reveals that Microsoft is currently working on a feature called “Advanced Paste with Local AI.” This session is expected to detail how PowerToys can leverage local AI models, using AI-driven APIs and local machine learning models, to deliver an enhanced pasting experience.
Clint Rutkas, the head of developer experience for the Windows team, later tweeted, confirming that PowerToys will soon gain AI paste functionality. While he didn’t divulge too many specifics, Rutkas teased that the upcoming feature is “pretty cool.”
