December 25, 2024 – According to a report by Reuters, Apple has requested to participate in Google’s antitrust trial regarding the U.S. online search case, aiming to defend the billion-dollar payment made by Google in this search case.
In court documents submitted by Apple’s lawyers in Washington on Monday, they stated that Apple has no intention to develop its own search engine to compete with Google, regardless of whether Google continues to pay the fees.
Previously released court documents revealed that Apple earned approximately $20 billion in 2022 solely from its agreement with Google.
Apple declared, “Google can no longer adequately represent Apple’s interests: Google must now withstand regulatory action to significantly split its business units.”
