NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang Arrives in Taiwan for COMPUTEX, Greeted as ‘The Godfather of AI’

May 27, 2024 – According to media reports, NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang and his wife Lori Huang arrived early in Taiwan on May 26th, in preparation for the upcoming COMPUTEX 2024, which will be held from June 4th to 7th.

Huang’s arrival caused a sensation at Taipei Songshan Airport, with many onlookers shouting “The Godfather of AI is here!” as they captured the moment on their phones.

It is understood that Huang’s visit is not only for the computex exhibition, but also to visit supply chain companies including Foxconn, Quanta, and TSMC.

Ahead of the exhibition opening, Huang is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech titled “Unveiling the Curtain on the New Industrial Revolution” at National Taiwan University on June 2nd, where he will share his insights on AI and the industrial revolution.

Additionally, AMD CEO Lisa Su will give a keynote speech on June 3rd, focusing on “High-Performance Computing Towards the AI Era”.

Huang has a particularly close partnership with TSMC, as all of NVIDIA’s AI chips are currently exclusively manufactured by TSMC. During this Taiwan trip, Huang is expected to have a private meeting with TSMC founder Morris Chang and CEO C.C. Wei, and may even attend a dinner hosted by Chang.

Meanwhile, Huang has also arranged a meeting with Foxconn Chairman Liu Yangwei to discuss collaboration and development in the field of AI servers. During the COMPUTEX exhibition, Huang is also expected to make an appearance at Foxconn’s booth.

Industry analysts believe that Huang’s trip to Taiwan not only strengthens ties with supply chain partners but also adds excitement to the upcoming COMPUTEX exhibition.
