Intel Taps Navid Shahriari as New Head of Process Technology Development

October 26, 2024 – According to a report by Oregon Live, Intel has notified its employees on Wednesday local time that Navid Shahriari has been selected to succeed Ann Kelleher as the head of the Technology Development (TD) department.

In a statement, Intel clarified, “Ann is not leaving. Given the significance of Technology Development, we have a robust long-term succession plan in place.” It is reported that Shahriari will gradually transition from his current engineering role to the TD business.

Pat Gelsinger, CEO of Intel, stated that Kelleher’s successor, Navid Shahriari, currently co-leads Intel’s design engineering operations in Arizona. However, Gelsinger did not disclose when Kelleher will step down from her position.

Intel further added, “Navid is taking on new responsibilities in preparation for ultimately taking over the TD business. This reflects our long-term succession planning, and Ann will continue to serve in her role.”

According to Intel’s official information, Navid Shahriari joined the company in 1989 and is currently responsible for design engineering in Arizona. However, it remains to be seen what formal position he will hold and whether he will relocate from Arizona to Oregon, where Intel’s development labs and wafer fabs are located.
