October 15, 2026 – ByteDance’s Doubao Work has launched a new “Data Import and Sync” feature, allowing users to migrate skills, historical conversations and work memories from other AI tools with one click. The update supports importing data from ChatGPT, Claude Code and Trae Work, making it easier to switch between AI products without losing existing workflows.
The migration covers task instructions, custom skills, connectors, work memories, projects and full conversation histories. After import, content is automatically sorted into the corresponding sections, and historical chats retain their original context so users can continue working without re-explaining project backgrounds.

The update also adds several workflow improvements. Users can select a message and choose “Continue in New Chat,” which carries the existing context into a new conversation while keeping the original thread intact. A new message annotation feature lets users add comments to specific replies, with both the original text and notes automatically carried into the input box. A conversation summary sidebar also provides a quick overview of ongoing tasks, outputs, skills and connectors.
Doubao Work notes that the import function currently supports only locally exported data and cannot directly pull content stored in other platforms’ cloud accounts.
The move is aimed at users who regularly work across multiple AI productivity tools. For tasks such as coding, research, enterprise office work and multi-step projects, the feature reduces the cost of switching platforms by allowing previously configured skills and conversations to be reused directly.
