Hermès Apple Watch Users Urged to Avoid watchOS 26 Beta 2 Due to Overheating and Frequent Crashes

June 26, 2025 – Yesterday, tech media outlet MacRumors issued a warning to users of the Hermès edition of the Apple Watch, advising them to refrain from updating to the watchOS 26 Beta 2.

According to Apple’s official update notes, installing this beta version on the Hermès edition Apple Watch could result in the device crashing repeatedly. Until a fix is available, Apple is recommending that these users hold off on the update.

Citing user feedback, the MacRumors post highlighted that after updating to watchOS 26 Beta 2, Hermès edition Apple Watch owners have experienced issues such as the device overheating, crashing continuously, and failing to charge. Additionally, the Apple Watch app on their linked iPhones has become unresponsive. Early indications suggest that the watch face might be the root cause of these problems.

Interestingly, if the Hermès Apple Watch is unpaired from an iOS 26 Beta 2 device, the Apple Watch app on the iPhone becomes accessible again. However, efforts to re-pair the watch prove unsuccessful.

It’s likely that Apple will address these issues in the upcoming watchOS 26 and iOS 26 updates. Therefore, if you own a Hermès edition Apple Watch and haven’t installed the latest developer beta version yet, it’s advisable to avoid the update for now to steer clear of potential risks.
