March 16, 2025 – Ubisoft Announces ‘Assassin’s Creed: Shadow’ Verified for Steam Deck, Launching on March 20th
In a recent announcement, Ubisoft has confirmed that “Assassin’s Creed: Shadow” has successfully passed the Steam Deck verification process and will be released on March 20th. It’s worth noting that at launch, Steam Deck users will not have the option to adjust graphics settings, although multiple upscaling methods will be available.
Interestingly, in a QA session published by Ubisoft in February, it was stated that “Assassin’s Creed: Shadow,” set to release on March 20th, would not be compatible with Steam Deck due to the device’s hardware falling below the game’s minimum requirements.
However, on March 13th, Ubisoft released a statement reversing its previous position, confirming that “Assassin’s Creed: Shadow” will indeed support Steam Deck at launch. The game is currently awaiting Valve’s rating certification, with more information to be released in the coming days.
The highly anticipated title is set to hit the shelves on March 20th, landing on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. Pre-orders are now open for fans eager to dive into the latest installment of the popular franchise.
