March 26, 2025 – Pat Gelsinger, former CEO of Intel and VMware, has announced his ascension to the role of Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer at Gloo, a tech company specializing in serving the faith-based ecosystem. In this new capacity, Gelsinger will spearhead the development of the world’s first vertical industry cloud platform catered to the faith sector and AI tools aligned with core values.
In a LinkedIn post, Gelsinger revealed that his team has selected the open-source model DeepSeek as an alternative to OpenAI for building Kallm, an AI chatbot. He emphasized the advantages of “transparency and open-sourcing” coupled with “low costs.” Gelsinger asserted that Gloo will uphold transparent benchmarking, content licensing, and open-source collaboration to propel the development of “AI for good.”

Transitioning from his role as a board member and investor at Gloo, Gelsinger now takes on a hands-on leadership position directly overseeing product development and engineering. His goal is to forge a dedicated cloud service tailored to the faith community.
Based in Boulder, Colorado, Gloo is a tech firm dedicated to providing technological tools for Christian churches and other faith groups. The company aims to bolster the development of faith communities through technology, particularly artificial intelligence. Its offerings include virtual assistants and Bible-based AI chatbots, designed to aid users in spiritual growth and community engagement through technological means.
