July 31, 2025 – Last week, Microsoft made a significant announcement regarding its leadership in the Greater China region. The tech giant has appointed Johnson Qing, also known as Qing Xuehui, as its new Chief Partner Officer for Greater China. In this crucial role, Qing will be in charge of overseeing the enterprise ecosystem strategy and the development of partner businesses across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Qing will report directly to Dr. Hou Yang, Microsoft’s Global Senior Vice President and Chairman & CEO of Greater China. Prior to this appointment, Qing was at the helm of Microsoft China’s Ecosystem Partner Business Unit, where he gained valuable experience and insights into the local market.

According to an official statement from Microsoft, in his new position, Qing will take the lead in formulating and executing Microsoft’s partner strategy in Greater China. His primary focus will be on building a robust enterprise ecosystem. He will work closely with a diverse range of partners, including Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), Global System Integrators (GSIs), and Enterprise Service Integrators (ESIs). Together, they aim to drive the AI transformation and business growth of enterprise customers in the region, leveraging Microsoft’s cutting-edge technologies and solutions. This move underscores Microsoft’s commitment to strengthening its partnerships and expanding its influence in the dynamic Greater China market.
