October 16, 2024 – At its annual global innovation event, Tech World 2024, Lenovo Group unveiled the sixth-generation vertical liquid cooling product, ThinkSystem N1380 Neptune, designed to power generative AI computations.
During the conference, Lenovo announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to introduce the Lenovo Hybrid AI Comprehensive Advantage Set. Furthermore, they launched the ThinkSystem SC777 V4 Neptune, expanding their long-term partnership with NVIDIA. This new system, utilizing the new ThinkSystem N1380 Neptune, claims to achieve AI models with trillions of parameters in a compact design.

According to the introduction, the ThinkSystem N1380 Neptune vertical liquid cooling chassis is specifically designed for industry-standard 19-inch racks, enabling 100% direct warm water cooling.
The ThinkSystem N1380 Neptune features eight tray slots, accommodating up to four ThinkSystem 15kW Titanium efficiency power conversion supplies (PCS) to power the 48V busbar.
ThinkSystem SC777 V4 Neptune supports the next-generation NVIDIA Quantum-X800 InfiniBand and Spectrum-X800 Ethernet platforms. Additionally, it supports NVIDIA AI Enterprise, a cloud-native software platform that simplifies the development and deployment of production-ready AI solutions, including generative AI, computer vision, and conversational AI.
According to official information from Lenovo, the sixth-generation Lenovo Neptune now fully covers Lenovo’s end-to-end hybrid AI portfolio, including servers, solutions, and services.
