Intel’s Executive Title Shift Confirms DCAI Division Split

May 24 2025 – Intel Corp. has recently restructured its organizational setup, particularly within its data center and AI segments, as evidenced by a notable shift in the title of Karin Eibschitz Segal, a vice president at the company. Segal’s role, which was previously designated as the “interim general manager of the Data Center and AI Group” (DCAI), has now been adjusted to the “interim general manager of the Data Center Group” (DCG), signaling a clear separation between the two divisions.

During the Intel Vision 2025 event, held in late March to early April, Segal’s title remained unchanged as the interim head of the combined DCAI. However, a subtle yet significant change emerged in a May 13 press release announcing Intel’s collaboration with Shell on immersive liquid cooling technology. While the English version of the news release reflected her updated title as the interim leader of DCG, the Chinese version retained her previous DCAI designation.

The realignment was further confirmed on May 22, when Intel unveiled three new Xeon 6000P processors. Alongside this announcement, Segal’s title in the Chinese press materials was officially updated to align with her English counterpart, now reflecting her role as the interim general manager of DCG.

According to prior reports, following the split of the DCAI, the development responsibilities for Xeon data center CPUs have been transferred to the DCG, while the AI accelerator team now falls under the leadership of Sachin Katti, Intel’s CTO and AI chief. This strategic reorganization underscores Intel’s commitment to sharpening its focus on both data center technologies and AI innovations, allowing each division to operate with greater autonomy and expertise.
