March 31, 2025 – Intel Corporation announced yesterday, as reported by Bloomberg, that three of its board members are set to retire, prompting the company to revamp its board structure to bring in professionals better aligned with its business transformation needs.
Regulatory filings reveal that Omar Ishrak, Jinzhi Liu, and Lisa Lavizzo-Murray will not seek reelection at the annual shareholder meeting on May 6th. Following the addition of semiconductor industry executives Eric Murris and Steve Sanghi to the board last year, the total number of seats will be reduced to eleven.

“We want to ensure that our board possesses the right skills, qualifications, and technical expertise to drive the company forward,” stated Frank Yeary, Intel’s Board Chairman, in a statement.
This reshuffle comes amidst a period of leadership changes at Intel. As previously reported, the board, dissatisfied with the progress of Pat Gelsinger’s “revitalization plan,” decided to relieve him of his duties and appointed Li-Wu Chen as the new Chief Executive Officer.
