Honda Unveils “Rideable Pokémon” Motorcycle: Wheel-less, Moves on “Limbs”

September 30, 2025 – Honda recently made waves at the MotoGP Japanese Grand Prix held at the Motegi circuit over the weekend by unveiling a stunning concept motorcycle named “Koraidon,” inspired by the legendary Pokémon from the game “Pokémon Scarlet.” This eye-catching creation is not just a static display; it actually moves.

Developed in collaboration with The Pokémon Company, this massive motorcycle has been described as an “almost life-sized recreation” of the character. In the game, Koraidon moves on its hind legs rather than rolling like a wheel. Remarkably, this motorcycle closely mirrors the original design in both appearance and functionality.

The bike’s body is predominantly a vibrant red, with consistent coloring across its hind and forelimbs, torso, and head. A blue plate adorns its back, serving double duty as the handlebars. Adding to its dramatic look are flowing mane-like elements in blue, pink, and white that enhance its visual appeal.

The idea for this unique vehicle originated from a thematic project by Honda Technical Society last year titled “Adults’ Perseverance Makes Children’s Dreams Come True.” Approximately 40 engineers from Honda’s motorcycle and power product divisions contributed to its development.

While details about the bike’s propulsion system remain undisclosed, it is known to incorporate Honda’s self-balancing technology to prevent tipping over due to its large size. Unlike traditional motorcycles, this bike does not rely on wheels for movement. Instead, it progresses at a walking pace through the coordinated swinging of its front and rear limbs.
