Gurman Reveals: Apple’s 2025 Vision Pro to Feature M4 Chip, Enhanced AI, and New Headband

July 10, 2025 – According to a recent blog post by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman on July 9, Apple is set to launch a new version of its Vision Pro headset in 2025, with a major focus on upgrading the internal chipset. The updated device is expected to be powered by the M4 chip, which is already used in some iPad Pro models and select Macs.

It’s worth noting that there have been conflicting reports about the chip upgrade. Earlier this year in June, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the 2025 Vision Pro would come with the more advanced M5 chip. Gurman himself had also hinted at the possibility of an M5 chip in previous statements. However, the latest information points to the M4 chip as the likely candidate for the new headset. Despite not reaching the initially anticipated M5 level, the M4 chip still represents a significant performance boost compared to the M2 chip used in the current Vision Pro model.

In addition to the faster processor, Apple is also planning to introduce a new headband for the Vision Pro. The new headband is designed to enhance comfort during extended wear, aiming to reduce head and neck pain. However, specific details about the headband’s design remain under wraps.

Apple is also reportedly testing an upgraded Neural Engine with more cores for the new Vision Pro. This enhancement is expected to improve the processor’s performance in handling AI-related tasks.

Furthermore, it is rumored that after the 2025 update, Apple will skip a year and not release a new Vision Pro model in 2026. Instead, the next iteration is expected to arrive in 2027. Ming-Chi Kuo has referred to this upcoming model as the “Vision Air,” suggesting that it will be a more lightweight version of the headset.
