Google’s Search Live Voice Search: Engage in Conversations for Quick Answers

June 19, 2025 – Google has officially rolled out its brand-new Search Live voice search feature today in the United States for both iOS and Android applications. This innovative tool is built upon the Gemini model, and users can access it by activating the AI mode within the Labs section. Once enabled, they can engage in seamless, natural voice conversations with the search engine.

The process of using Search Live is incredibly straightforward. After activating the AI mode, users just need to open the Google App, tap on the newly – appeared Live icon, and then voice their queries. Google will respond with an AI – generated voice, and users can continue asking follow – up questions in a conversational manner without any repetitive actions.

According to Google, Search Live serves as an ideal companion when you’re on the go or occupied with other tasks, such as packing your luggage. In an official demonstration, a user asked how to prevent a linen dress from getting wrinkled in a suitcase, and Gemini provided an instant voice – based answer. Throughout the interaction, there was no need to exit the interface or repeatedly click on icons. Even if users switch to other applications, the conversation can still carry on smoothly.

Moreover, users have the option to view the text transcript of the voice responses. If they prefer to switch to typing for further communication, that’s also possible. All historical conversations from Search Live are stored in the records of the AI mode.

It’s worth noting that other AI companies are also making strides in the field of voice interaction. Last year, OpenAI introduced the Advanced Voice Mode in ChatGPT. Anthropic followed suit by launching the voice functionality for the Claude app in May this year. As for Apple, it is in the process of developing “LLM Siri.” However, due to the feature not yet meeting the expected level of reliability, the product’s launch has been postponed.
