Cook Stays Positive on Vision Pro Amid Low Sales, Envisions Its Role in Apple’s Tomorrow

August 2, 2025 – According to a blog post by tech media outlet MacRumors yesterday (August 1), even though nearly 18 months have passed since the launch of the mixed – reality (MR) headset Vision Pro and its overall sales performance has been less than stellar, Apple CEO Tim Cook remains optimistic about the device.

During the earnings call held on Thursday this week, Cook began by commending the unremitting efforts of the Vision Pro team. He also expressed his satisfaction with the performance of visionOS 26.

As previously reported, visionOS 26 has brought in a host of features. For instance, it introduced Spatial Widgets, enabling users to customize their digital spaces according to their preferences. Moreover, the Personas feature has become more lifelike, and new enterprise APIs have also been rolled out.

Cook went on to say that Apple will keep a close eye on the Vision Pro. Although he was reluctant to disclose the specific product roadmap, he emphasized that Apple is committed to further exploring this field.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has already leaked Apple’s product roadmap. According to Gurman’s expectations, the new version of Vision Pro will be equipped with a faster M4 chip and a new headband, which will enhance comfort during long – term wear.
