Apple Watch Ultra 3 Set for Launch This Year, May Feature Satellite & 5G Connectivity

June 17, 2025 – Apple enthusiasts might have some exciting new gadgets to look forward to this year, as GF Securities’ Hong Kong-based analyst Jeff Pu has shed light on the company’s upcoming product launches. According to Pu’s latest pr within the year.

These anticipated releases are likely to coincide with the launch of the iPhone 17 series, aligning with Apple’s traditional product unveiling schedule. For fans of the Apple Watch Ultra series, the wait has been particularly long, as the last significant update to the rugged smartwatch was nearly two years ago. In 2024, Apple only introduced a new black titanium color option for the Apple Watch Ultra 2, without any major upgrades.

Pu’s predictions echo those of other industry watchers, with many analysts expecting a comprehensive refresh of the Apple Watch lineup at Apple’s fall event. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has even speculated that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 could come equipped with satellite connectivity and 5G capabilities, features that might justify the extended development period.

In addition to the Apple Watch updates, Pu also anticipates the launch of the long-rumored HomePad tablet from Apple this year. However, he suggests that the release of the AirPods Pro 3 might be pushed back to 2026, a timeline that contradicts some recent forecasts.

For users still rocking the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra, the prolonged wait could soon pay off. After two years of refinement, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to deliver substantial performance enhancements and feature improvements beyond the typical annual updates.
