Amazon-Sold INIU Chargers: Over 200,000 Units Recalled in U.S. for Fire Risk

December 8, 2025 – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of approximately 210,000 portable lithium-ion battery power banks sold on Amazon due to potential fire and burn hazards to consumers.

The recall specifically targets the INIU 10,000mAh portable power banks, model BI-B41, which were available for purchase on Amazon from August 2021 to April 2022. These power banks come in black or blue casings, featuring the INIU logo and paw-shaped LED lights on the front.

Reports indicate that these power banks may overheat and pose a fire risk. The company has received at least 15 reports of overheating incidents, including 11 fires that resulted in minor burns and property damage.

Only power banks with serial numbers 000G21, 000H21, 000I21, and 000L21 are included in this recall. Customers who have purchased these affected power banks are urged to stop using them immediately. They should visit INIU’s official recall page to verify their product’s serial number and register for a full refund.

According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), consumers should discontinue use of any lithium-ion battery products if they notice unusual odors, color changes, excessive heat, shape distortions, leaks, or strange noises.

Given the fire risks associated with lithium-ion batteries, they should never be disposed of in trash bins, curbside recycling containers, or even battery recycling boxes. The CPSC advises consumers to contact their local Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection centers for proper disposal instructions regarding recalled lithium-ion batteries or devices.
