Tesla Reveals Semi Factory Construction Advancements, First Mass-Produced Units Expected by Year’s End

April 29, 2025 – Tesla has recently unveiled a video providing insights into the progress of its dedicated production facility for the Semi electric truck, located near the Gigafactory Nevada. Additionally, the company has showcased, for the first time, the exclusive design concept for the truck’s branding.

Dan Priestley, the project lead for Tesla Semi, commented, “Over the past several months, we’ve successfully completed the construction of the main structure of the factory, encompassing walls, columns, and concrete foundations. Our current focus is shifting towards the installation of production equipment to pave the way for mass production.”

Priestley further elaborated that the factory is designed with an annual production capacity of 50,000 units. The company aims to finalize the industrial deployment over the next few quarters, with the first batch of production vehicles slated to roll off the assembly line by the end of this year, followed by a ramp-up in production capacity in 2026.

The Semi electric truck, Tesla’s sole model yet to achieve large-scale production, has already undergone extensive road testing within actual logistics fleets for several years. Priestley emphasized, “Both the factory and the truck model are set to undergo significant upgrades, signaling that this electric truck is now primed for widespread adoption.”

Notably, Tesla has chosen to reveal the exclusive Semi branding at the conclusion of the video.

The new logo adheres to Tesla’s minimalist design philosophy, employing sleek, futuristic lettering. A distinctive feature is the letter “E,” which is composed of three horizontal lines. In contrast to the graffiti-style emblem of the Cybertruck, the Semi’s logo places greater emphasis on an industrial aesthetic.
