Tesla FSD: Learning from Humans to Auto – Depart Toll Booths After Payment

July 29, 2025 – A Tesla owner with the username @WifeDirtyTesla recently shared a video online, revealing an interesting experience with the Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature. According to her account, when she activated FSD, her Tesla car came to a halt at a park toll booth that lacked guardrails, waited patiently while she paid the fee, and then resumed driving forward once the payment was completed.

This video caught the attention of Ashok, the head of AI at Tesla. He explained that FSD can use onboard cameras to monitor the progress of transactions. Once it confirms that the payment has been successfully made, it can automatically carry out the next steps of the journey. This indicates that Tesla’s FSD is learning human behavior by observing through the side – mounted cameras of the vehicle.

However, this learning method is far from perfect. In the comment section of the video, some netizens shared their similar experiences. One user said, “I’ve encountered this multiple times when picking up food at drive – throughs. It seems like the camera just captures some interactions near the car window. Sometimes, it tries to drive off before I even get my food.” This shows that while FSD is making progress in mimicking human actions, there are still some glitches that need to be ironed out.
