May 29 2025 – After a rigorous six-month search process, European automotive giant Stellantis Group has finally found its new leader. The company announced in Amsterdam on May 28 local time that Antonio Filosa, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of the Americas region (covering both North and South America) and the Group’s Chief Quality Officer, will officially take on the role of Stellantis Group’s Chief Executive Officer starting June 23, 2025.
In the coming days, Stellantis Group will convene an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting. The purpose of this gathering is to elect Antonio Filosa to the group’s board of directors and appoint him as an executive director.
According to official statements, Filosa’s extensive and successful 25-year career in the automotive industry, coupled with his global experience, in-depth knowledge of Stellantis Group, and recognized leadership abilities, made him the ideal candidate for the CEO position.

Filosa has a proven track record of leadership within Stellantis Group. During his tenure as the Chief Operating Officer for the South American region, he propelled the Fiat brand to the top spot in the local market. Subsequently, he also oversaw significant growth for the Peugeot, Citroën, Ram, and Jeep brands. He was instrumental in the creation and implementation of the Pernambuco factory project in Brazil. As one of the largest automotive manufacturing centers in South America, the factory’s operations enabled the launch of the Jeep brand in Brazil and quickly turned the country into the brand’s largest market outside of the United States.
Later, as the Global Chief Executive Officer of the Jeep brand, Filosa expanded the brand’s global influence, including in Europe. With models like the Jeep Avenger, Jeep vehicles continued to be among the group’s best-sellers in the European market. In December 2024, he was promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer for the Americas region of Stellantis Group.
It’s worth noting that last December 1, Stellantis Group’s board of directors officially accepted the resignation request of Carlos Tavares, who stepped down as the group’s CEO with immediate effect. Now, with Filosa at the helm, Stellantis Group is poised to embark on a new chapter of growth and innovation.
