Porsche Unveils: Apple Car Key Support for 2026 Electric Macan & Cayenne

December 12, 2025 – According to a recent post by tech media outlet Appleinsider on December 11, Porsche has officially announced that its two all-electric models, the Cayenne and Macan, set to be launched in 2026, will support Apple Car Key.

Although Porsche had long been on the list of automakers supporting this technology, it wasn’t until this press release that the specific implementation time and the first models to feature it were made clear.

By integrating Apple Car Key, Porsche has introduced a brand-new vehicle interaction mode for drivers. Car owners no longer need to carry traditional physical keys. Instead, with just an iPhone or an Apple Watch on hand, they can easily unlock the car doors and the trunk.

What’s even more convenient is that thanks to advanced sensing technology, users don’t even have to take their phones out of their pockets or bags. The vehicle can automatically recognize and respond. Once inside the car, drivers can start the engine and hit the road without having to take out their phones, achieving truly “hands-free” operation.

In response to the common concern among users about device battery life, this feature offers a comprehensive solution. Even if an iPhone or Apple Watch runs out of battery and shuts down automatically, the built-in Power Reserve function ensures that the digital key stored in the device continues to work properly.

From a technical perspective, to ensure the stability and security of the connection, Apple’s digital key relies on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technologies. The generated digital key is securely stored in the Apple Wallet app and can be shared with other users via email, Messages, and other applications.
