The company has a well – defined roadmap in place. In 2026, the highly anticipated Polestar 5 will make its debut, and at the same time, a brand – new version of the Polestar 4 is set to hit the market, which is expected to be a station wagon. The following year, 2027, will see the release of the second – generation Polestar 2. And in 2028, the compact SUV Polestar 7 will step in to further expand the brand’s commercial footprint.

This ambitious product push hasn’t been without its challenges. Polestar has faced financial headwinds, but it managed to secure a $900 million funding boost from its parent company, Geely Holding.
Polestar’s strategy goes far beyond just a simple recovery; it’s a full – scale upgrade. Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath has made it clear that the company is setting its sights on directly competing with BMW M and Mercedes – AMG. To achieve this, Polestar plans to transform the BST “Beast” badge, currently only available on a limited number of Polestar 2 models, into an independent high – performance sub – brand.
In the future, high – performance models from Polestar will feature a stiffer chassis setup, a more track – focused driving experience, and blistering acceleration. High – performance derivatives of the Polestar 2, 3, and 4 are all in the pipeline.
There are also plans for a more radical version of the Polestar 5, which will target the likes of Audi RS models and the latest high – performance all – electric flagship vehicles. As the new flagship of this phase, the Polestar 5 will be equipped with an 112kWh battery and an 800V high – voltage architecture. The performance version will boast an impressive 884 horsepower and around 1015N·m of torque, positioning itself in the pure – electric luxury GT market.
A more powerful version of the Polestar 4 is expected to follow. The new – generation Polestar 2 is likely to transition into a traditional three – box sedan, with a body length potentially exceeding the current approximately 4600mm. It will also have a version that goes head – to – head with the Tesla Model 3 Performance.
Finally, the Polestar 7, which will enter the high – end compact C – SUV market, aims to further enhance the brand’s influence in the zero – emission vehicle segment.
