Investors Urge Tesla: Snatch Up Unplugged for Police/Military Custom Car Market Entry

July 14, 2025 – A group of overseas Tesla investors has recently been advocating for the electric vehicle giant to acquire Unplugged Performance, a company renowned for offering upgrade services like chassis and aerodynamic kits specifically tailored for Tesla vehicles. Unplugged Performance’s UP.FIT division also has the capability to create custom – made special – purpose vehicles for government departments.

According to statements from Tesla investors such as Whole Mars Catalog and Sawyer Merritt, they firmly believe that a merger between Tesla and Unplugged Performance would be a perfect match. They argue that through the acquisition, Tesla could leverage the UP.FIT division to break into the overseas market for custom – built passenger vehicles for government agencies. This would enable Tesla to design and manufacture high – performance models for police forces and military units. Not only could this move generate substantial profits, but it might also strengthen the relationship between the U.S. authorities and Tesla. Moreover, it could potentially enhance the industry’s recognition of autonomous driving technology.

In response to these discussions, Ben Schaffer, the CEO of Unplugged Performance, took to the X platform. He stated, “Our very existence is to support Tesla’s mission. We deeply cherish our collaboration with Tesla and are grateful for the support from the community since 2013.” This statement seems to imply that the company would be open to being acquired by Tesla.
