Giamaro Automobili Unveils Beastly 4-Turbo V12 Hypercar with 2100HP Surge

May 24 2025 – Italian hypercar manufacturer Giamaro Automobili has burst onto the scene with its latest flagship model, the Katla, making a bold statement in an era dominated by electric vehicles. This supercar, powered entirely by Giamaro’s in-house-developed 7.0-liter quad-turbocharged V12 engine, stands out as a refreshing alternative in the market.

The Katla is set to offer multiple power configurations, with the top-tier variant boasting an astonishing 2,127 horsepower and a torque output of 2,008 Nm, surpassing even the formidable Bugatti Tourbillon. The standard version is no slouch either, delivering an impressive 1,647 horsepower and 1,556 Nm of torque.

While official figures for acceleration and top speed are yet to be revealed, the Katla is equipped with a seven-speed gearbox that channels power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. Looking ahead, Giamaro is developing an 11-speed dual-clutch transmission for future models.

In terms of design, the Katla sports a futuristic silhouette, featuring a vented hood, “floating” LED daytime running lights, gull-wing doors, and a sleek, low-slung body that channels air smoothly to the mid-mounted engine. At the rear, C-shaped taillights and a large diffuser add a touch of aggression.

The car rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza Sport performance tires, paired with a high-performance braking system featuring 420mm diameter brake discs at all four corners, with 10-piston calipers up front and 4-piston calipers at the rear. An active rear spoiler provides downforce at high speeds and can also act as an air brake when needed.

With a length of 4,791mm and a wheelbase of 2,750mm, the Katla boasts a well-balanced proportion. Inside, the cockpit adopts an aviation-inspired design, blending aluminum, carbon fiber, and fabric materials, complete with a fully digital instrument cluster and a driver-focused central display.

The interior also features a flat-bottomed steering wheel, push-button gear selection, two sport seats, and a minimalist center console layout. Built around a carbon fiber monocoque weighing just 170kg, the Katla tips the scales at a remarkably light 1,450kg for a V12-powered vehicle.

With a front-to-rear weight distribution of 42:58, the Katla employs a high-strength aluminum suspension setup with electronically controlled adjustable dampers. The ride height automatically adjusts according to driving conditions, striking a balance between aerodynamic efficiency and everyday usability.

In addition to the Katla, Giamaro has also unveiled the Albor concept car. This rugged hypercar, possibly inspired by the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, features increased ground clearance, widened carbon fiber wheel arches, and a personalized exterior with a distinctive rear exhaust setup.

The Albor shares the same monocoque platform and engine as the Katla, with its name derived from Mars’ Albor Tholus volcano, symbolizing its powerful presence.
