July 29, 2025 – According to a post by Kosutami on X yesterday (July 28), an image was shared showing an iMac prototype in the Engineering Validation Test (EVT) phase. Notably, this prototype features an Apple logo positioned beneath the screen.
Since 2021, Apple’s iMac lineup has undergone significant changes, transitioning from Intel processors to Apple’s in-house Apple Silicon chips. Alongside this shift, the iMac embraced a new, vibrant, and ultra-slim design. However, one long-standing characteristic was notably absent from the latest models: the iconic Apple logo beneath the display.

New reports indicate that during the development of the Apple Silicon-powered iMac, Apple considered reintroducing the Apple logo at the EVT stage. Typically, Apple’s product development cycle involves four key phases:
First comes the Engineering Validation Test (EVT), followed by the Design Validation Test (DVT), then the Product Validation Test (PVT), and finally, mass production.
