January 6, 2026 – On the 5th (local time in the US), HP made a significant announcement that it would merge its OMEN gaming brand into HyperX, aiming to forge a unified powerhouse in the gaming and esports realm. This strategic move will see the new combined entity offer a comprehensive product lineup, spanning from laptops and desktops to a wide array of peripherals.
At CES 2026, the newly revamped HyperX unveiled a slew of cutting-edge hardware products, with three of them set to hit the market in spring.

First up is the HyperX OMEN MAX 16, a flagship gaming laptop that boasts a three-fan cooling system. This system enables it to unleash a staggering 300W of platform performance. Gamers have the flexibility to choose between an Intel Core Ultra 200HX or an AMD Ryzen AI 400 processor. For graphics, it can be equipped with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU.
To take the gaming experience to the next level, the HyperX OMEN MAX 16 offers an optional 16-inch OLED display. This screen features a resolution of 2560×1600, a blazing-fast 240Hz refresh rate, and a brightness of 500nits. Additionally, it comes with a high-polling-rate keyboard that has full-height arrow keys and ARGB backlighting.
Next is the HyperX OMEN OLED 34 monitor. It incorporates Samsung Display’s latest V-Stripe QD-OLED panel. The 34-inch monitor has a resolution of 3440×1440 and a super-smooth 360Hz refresh rate. Its GtG response time is an incredibly fast 0.03ms. It also supports 100W USB-C PD-out, has a built-in KVM switch, and even comes with a 3D-printed headphone hook.
Last but not least, HyperX introduced the Clutch Tachi, HP’s first officially licensed arcade controller for Xbox. This controller is equipped with TMR magnetic effect shafts. The keycaps are 3D-printable, and the top plate can also be customized through DIY methods, giving gamers the freedom to personalize their gaming gear.
