August 29, 2025 – Yesterday, on August 28, the well – known tech media outlet Sammyguru dropped a blog post. This post featured a set of demo animations that offered an in – depth look at the interaction details of Samsung’s first – ever tri – fold smartphone, which might be named the Galaxy Z TriFold upon its market release.
Let’s start with wireless charging. When the Galaxy Z TriFold is placed with its front facing the user, the charging coil is situated in the right – hand third of the device. To prevent users from placing the phone incorrectly during charging, Samsung has designed some guiding animations. These animations will pop up during the first charging session, the initial setup process, or within the settings menu, clearly showing users the correct way to position the phone.

Moving on to reverse charging, this feature gives users the ability to charge other devices. They can simply place their Galaxy Buds earphones, Galaxy Watch smartwatches, or even another smartphone on the back of the Galaxy Z TriFold. The animations also illustrate the positions of the charging coils in both the folded and unfolded states of the phone. If Samsung sticks to the settings of its existing foldable phones, users will still be able to use the outer screen normally while charging other devices.
In terms of mobile payments, the Galaxy Z TriFold supports NFC card payments. What’s more, it allows users to complete payments even when the device is fully unfolded. This means that users can check their shopping lists on the large screen and then make a payment at the checkout counter without having to fold the phone.
