August 29, 2025 – On Thursday, Toyota Motor Corporation, the well – known Japanese automaker, revealed that its global vehicle sales in July soared for the seventh consecutive month. This remarkable growth was propelled by robust demand in the North American market, along with the outstanding performance of hybrid and new electric vehicle models in the Chinese market. Both production and sales figures for July set new all – time highs.

Toyota stated that its global sales in July, which included those of its subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd., climbed 4% year – on – year, reaching a total of 963,796 units. While domestic sales in Japan dipped by 2%, sales in markets outside Japan surged by 6%. The sales of Toyota and Lexus brands in North America were particularly impressive. Driven by the high demand for trucks, sport – utility vehicles (SUVs), and hybrid electric vehicles, sales in this region skyrocketed by 20% compared to the same period last year. In China, Toyota’s sales increased by 5.7% year – on – year.
It is worth noting that as the world’s largest automaker, Toyota also achieved excellent results in global vehicle production in July. Production rose by 5.3% year – on – year, marking the second consecutive month of growth and setting a new production record for the month.
From January to July this year, Toyota’s global sales reached 6.509 million units, maintaining its top – ranking position globally for six consecutive years. In light of these positive trends, Toyota has revised its global production target for 2025 upwards to approximately 10 million units.
