June 20, 2025 – TDK Corporation, a leading Japanese electronics company, announced today its acquisition of SoftEye, a U.S.-based developer of advanced smart glasses hardware and software solutions. The move is part of TDK’s broader strategy to expand its presence in the AI ecosystem.
SoftEye specializes in creating customized chips, cameras, software, and algorithms tailored for smart glasses. The company boasts expertise in low-power eye-tracking technology and object recognition, which will now be fully integrated into TDK’s operations. Following the completion of the transaction, SoftEye will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of TDK.
With this acquisition, TDK aims to accelerate the delivery of comprehensive smart glasses systems and pioneer new Human-Machine Interface (HMI) solutions. These innovations will enable users to interact with AI through intuitive eye movements, marking a significant leap forward in wearable technology.
