July 2, 2025 – In April this year, Samsung made an announcement about deepening its collaboration with Google Cloud. The tech giant revealed that it would integrate its generative AI technology, Gemini, into its brand – new home AI companion robot, Ballie.
Ballie is no ordinary robot. It boasts the ability to engage in natural – language conversations with users. This feature allows it to play a pivotal role in managing the home environment. It can handle a variety of tasks, such as adjusting the lighting in the house, welcoming guests, creating personalized schedules, and setting up reminders.

However, according to a report from the Korean Times, the launch of Samsung’s Ballie robot has been postponed. The company is currently focusing on enhancing the overall user experience of the product. At the same time, it is also working hard to determine an “appropriate price point”. Industry sources predict that the price of this robot is likely to exceed $2000.
Although the appearance of Ballie has undergone some modifications since the project’s inception, its core functions remain unchanged. Its main purpose is still to assist users in controlling smart home devices. It can understand and interact with users through its built – in AI Agent function.
Some foreign media outlets hold a pessimistic view regarding the product’s initial market demand. They believe that the current market may not have a strong appetite for Ballie. Nevertheless, they also anticipate that as AI technology continues to advance in the future, products like Ballie will become more competitive in the market.
