OpenAI’s Debut AI Hardware Set for 2026 Launch, Ushering in Era of Ubiquitous ChatGPT Integration

May 28 2025 – Tech media outlet BleepingComputer has revealed today that OpenAI is aiming to introduce a new ChatGPT-powered product by 2026, aiming to position ChatGPT as an omnipresent assistant in users’ daily lives.

The information comes from a document dated December 2, 2024, which was disclosed during Google’s antitrust case in the United States. This document outlines OpenAI’s plans for the first half of 2025, highlighting the company’s ambition to expand ChatGPT’s reach beyond its current integration through websites, mobile apps, and desktop applications.

According to the document, while ChatGPT has already become a part of users’ lives via various platforms, OpenAI envisions an even deeper integration, allowing ChatGPT to play a role in diverse scenarios. In everyday life, ChatGPT could assist users in answering questions, playing music, and suggesting recipes. When users are on the move, ChatGPT could navigate routes, recommend the best restaurants, or help maintain connections with friends. In professional settings, it could take meeting notes and aid in preparing crucial presentations.

OpenAI emphasizes that “the best AI is the one that’s always by your side,” hinting at the possibility of developing a hardware device capable of running ChatGPT natively, thus truly embedding AI into every aspect of users’ lives.

Although OpenAI has stated that it will not release this product in 2025, the company has set its sights on achieving this breakthrough by 2026 and has already begun preparations to make this vision a reality.
