January 6, 2026 – At CES 2026, NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang unveiled the cutting-edge Vera Rubin chip, along with a suite of innovative models and datasets spanning four key sectors: language processing, robotics, autonomous driving, and healthcare. These advancements are set to further accelerate AI innovation across industries.
Huang emphasized that open-source models have now surpassed the leading proprietary models from major AI companies by a margin of six months. “AI is transforming the world at an incredible pace, and we are proud to be at the forefront of this revolution,” he stated.

Highlighting NVIDIA’s commitment to open-source development, Huang noted, “We don’t just open-source our models; we also share the training data, giving you full transparency into how these models are built.”
During the event, Huang specifically called out Deepseek-R1 as a standout example of open-source innovation, noting its groundbreaking impact in driving the open-source movement forward last year. “It took the world by surprise,” he remarked.
Looking ahead, Huang underscored that AI is evolving into a sophisticated system capable of cross-modal understanding, model selection, and multi-cloud deployment. “This system can process diverse data types, choose the optimal model for each task, and operate seamlessly across cloud environments. This will become the standard approach for building future applications,” he concluded.
