Musk Unveils: First Fully Autonomous Tesla to Drive Off Production Line Straight to Customer’s Door on June 28

June 11, 2025 – Elon Musk took to the 𝕏 platform today to reveal that Tesla’s Robotaxi self-driving taxi service is tentatively set to launch its first public passenger rides on June 22. “We’re taking safety extremely seriously, so there’s a chance the date could shift,” he cautioned.

In a follow-up announcement, Musk added that the first fully autonomous Tesla vehicle will roll straight off the factory production line and head straight to a customer’s doorstep on June 28.

Meanwhile, the official Tesla Cybertruck account chimed in with a humorous touch, stating, “If you need me, I’m all set for the apocalypse.”

Previous reports indicated that Musk had repeatedly expressed intentions to roll out a paid ride-hailing service for customers in June, though the plan had been shrouded in uncertainty. Musk himself acknowledged that Tesla only began testing the system without a safety driver in late May.

Adding to the buzz, a Model Y sporting “Robotaxi” graffiti was recently spotted on the streets of Austin. The head of Tesla’s autonomous driving division also weighed in, providing further confirmation of the service’s impending arrival.
