May 13 2025 – On Monday local time, Google unveiled its “AI Future Fund,” a strategic initiative designed to fuel the growth of AI startups by providing them with technological resources and financial backing.
The fund is now open to eligible AI startups worldwide, with the first application window having commenced on May 12th.

According to details revealed in Google’s official blog and by TechCrunch, the fund offers support across four key pillars:
Early Access to Cutting-Edge AI Models from DeepMind: This includes multimodal models like Gemini, image-generation models such as Imagen, and video-generation models named Veo.
Expert Technical Support: Startups will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with engineers, researchers, and market experts from Google DeepMind and Google Labs.
Google Cloud Resources: Dedicated cloud service credits and technical support will be provided to assist in the development and training of AI products.
Equity Investment: Selected startups stand a chance to secure direct investment from Google, with the investment amount tailored to the startup’s stage of development.
With the launch of the “AI Future Fund,” Google aims to empower startups in pushing the boundaries of AI technology.
As of this report, three startups have already disclosed their progress in collaborating with the fund:
Toonsutra, a digital comic platform based in India, is leveraging Gemini to enable cross-language comic translations.
Viggle, an AI meme generation platform, is integrating Gemini, Imagen, and Veo to develop innovative video creation tools.
Rooms, a 3D interactive space platform, is utilizing Gemini to enhance the content generation experience for its users.
