June 28, 2025 – Elon Musk made a major announcement today, revealing that the highly anticipated Grok 4 will be launched after July 4.
The tech mogul disclosed that Grok 4 will feature a dedicated programming – focused model. However, he kept the rest of the details under wraps for now.
It’s worth noting that Musk has been building up the hype around Grok 3.5 for quite some time. There were even discussions about potentially naming it Grok 4, and now it’s confirmed that the new model will indeed be called Grok 4.
Back in late April, Musk had mentioned that Grok 3.5 (which is now Grok 4) would be the first AI capable of accurately answering questions related to rocket engines or electrochemical technology. He emphasized that Grok has the unique ability to reason from first – principles and come up with answers that aren’t available on the internet.
Musk further claimed that this AI model, with its advanced reasoning capabilities, is set to rewrite the entire existing human knowledge base. He intends to fill in the gaps of missing information during this process and also get rid of any erroneous content.
