June 25, 2025 – Voice AI pioneer ElevenLabs has unveiled a standalone mobile app, enabling iOS and Android users to convert text into audio clips seamlessly. Previously, accessing the company’s AI-powered voice library required reliance on its web-based platform, but the new app empowers users to generate voice content on-the-go using their smartphones or tablets. To create an audio snippet, users simply input or paste text, select a preferred voice model, and the app handles the rest. ElevenLabs’ free tier offers roughly 10 minutes of audio generation, while users can also choose from multiple models tailored to balance cost and audio quality. Importantly, credit allocations are shared between the web and mobile versions of the app.

A standout feature of the mobile app is its integration of ElevenLabs’ cutting-edge v3 alpha text-to-speech model, which introduces emotion-control capabilities via tags. This allows users to fine-tune vocal delivery, adding nuances like enthusiasm, calmness, or urgency to their audio outputs.
The launch marks another strategic move by ElevenLabs to expand its presence in consumer-facing applications. Last year, the company introduced Reader, an app designed to let users listen to articles, blogs, PDFs, and e-books instantly. Earlier in 2025, it extended Reader’s accessibility to publishers, facilitating seamless audiobook distribution.
Looking ahead, ElevenLabs aims to enrich its mobile app with advanced features, including speech-to-text conversion and conversational AI tools. Additionally, the company plans to incorporate MCP-based experiences, such as its 11.ai platform, into the app’s ecosystem. These developments underscore ElevenLabs’ commitment to redefining how users interact with voice technology across devices.
