May 23 2025 – Legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese, whose six-decade career has produced dozens of documentaries, is now set to have his life and creative journey chronicled on Apple TV Plus. The tech giant has unveiled plans for a five-part documentary series titled Mr. Scorsese, which will delve into how themes like “the duality of human nature” shaped his early student films at New York University and influenced his iconic body of work.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Rebecca Miller, the series will feature “unprecedented, unrestricted access” to Scorsese’s private archives, according to Apple. Extensive interviews with Scorsese himself will explore how his personal experiences have informed his storytelling.

The project also includes rare conversations with the director’s friends, family, and creative collaborators, such as Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mick Jagger, Robbie Robertson, Steven Spielberg, and Miller’s husband, Daniel Day-Lewis.
Reflecting on the documentary’s evolution, Miller remarked, “Scorsese’s life and art are so profoundly layered that what began as a single-episode concept blossomed into a five-part series over five years. Collaborating with my longtime team on this project has been one of the most defining moments of my career as a filmmaker.”
