May 21 2025 – Today, Android Authority reported in a blog post that at the 2025 I/O Developers Conference, Google made an exciting announcement regarding Gemini Live. The feature, which was initially exclusive to premium users of Gemini Advanced, is now being rolled out to both iOS and Android users.
Earlier in April this year, Google had already revealed plans to expand the availability of Gemini Live to all Android users. Now, the tech giant is taking it a step further by introducing the functionality to the iOS platform as well.

Gemini Live is designed to recognize and respond in real – time to the content displayed on a user’s phone camera or screen. This innovative interaction method breaks the mold of traditional AI that is often confined to text – based inputs. Instead, it allows AI to truly “understand” what users are looking at.
For instance, if a user is at an aquarium, they can simply point their phone’s camera at an aquatic animal. Gemini Live will then identify the creature and provide relevant information about it. Whether it’s through showing a screenshot or using the camera to focus on an object, users can get accurate and timely feedback, enhancing their overall digital experience.
