September 27, 2024 – Meta has recently announced the discontinuation of its high-end virtual reality headset, the Quest Pro, with plans to clear out the inventory by the end of the year.
Introduced in 2022, the Quest Pro received a lukewarm response from the market. While Meta did not explicitly state the reasons for halting production in its blog post, it is evident that the headset did not gain widespread popularity.

Originally priced at 1,499,theQuestProunderwentapermanentpricereductionto999 just a few months after its launch. However, it still remained a pricey option, especially considering the subsequent release of Meta’s more cost-effective Quest 3, priced at $499.
In a move that aligns more closely with market trends, Meta has also announced the discontinuation of the Quest 2. The device, which has been available for four years, is being replaced by the newly released Quest 3S as its ideal successor.
