Doubao Unveils ‘Work Squads’ to Tackle Complex Office Workflows

August 22, 2026 – Doubao’s PC client has received a major update to its “Work Tasks” mode, officially introducing three powerful new capabilities: Skills, Connectors, and Work Partners (Work Squads). These additions are designed to significantly enhance the platform’s Agent-driven complex office processing capabilities, with a unified entry point located in the PC sidebar under “Skills · Connectors · Partners.”

The “Skills” feature functions as a standardized, encapsulated workflow package. The platform currently offers over 200 official skills covering office processing, scheduled tasks, and data statistics. Furthermore, users can create custom skills through natural language dialogue, saving their frequently used operational steps, templates, and output standards. This allows for seamless workflow reuse without the need to repeatedly describe complex instructions.

“Connectors” serve as the bridge to third-party external services. Upon user authorization, Doubao can securely access accounts on platforms such as Feishu, DingTalk, email clients, and financial services. It can directly read and write documents and spreadsheets, automatically handling information retrieval, data archiving, and cross-platform synchronization. Permissions are strictly bound to the user’s account to prevent unauthorized data access, and all operations are logged and traceable, effectively embedding AI into existing office workflows while eliminating tedious cross-platform copy-pasting.

The “Work Partners” feature provides a multi-professional Agent ecosystem. Users can select from various specialized AI agents, including data analysts, developers, UI designers, and copywriters, to form a customized “Work Squad.” This collaborative approach allows complex tasks to be broken down and executed in parallel across different stages like research, data analysis, writing, and design. It effectively solves the challenges of long-chain complex projects that a single large language model struggles to handle.

These three features can be used independently or combined for powerful synergistic effects. A typical workflow might involve using a Connector to pull spreadsheet data from Feishu, applying a data processing Skill for statistical charting, and finally handing off the results to a Work Partner Squad to draft a comprehensive report. Users can even schedule this entire multi-step process to run automatically.
